Rovaniemi presents itself as the Official Hometown of Santa Claus, on the Arctic Circle, and it is the easiest Lapland base for a first Christmas trip with children: Santa Claus Village and SantaPark are a short ride from the centre, and the airport has daily connections from Helsinki.
